To create an interactive 3D experience as part of Cadbury’s national Share the Joy campaign. Virtual R&D’s work was required to be completed in a two-week timeframe.
Virtual R&D was responsible for specifying a system of hardware and software to play a sequence of high-definition 3D videos. The videos would interact with a group of viewers, listen to their response, and respond accordingly. The viewers were asked to sing a sequence of notes, which were captured by studio microphones for later use by Cadbury. Custom software was required to analyse the audience’s response, and either move to the next section or ask them to retry.
Virtual R&D proceeded to quickly specify a PC and 3D-capable projector to suit the project requirements. Highly configurable video software was used to assemble a sequence of videos, and custom sound analysis software was used to interface the video sequence with the audience. The functional system was delivered as part of the larger Joy Collector campaign for a successful nationwide tour.
